Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted with no set deadline with an application fee of $30. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts and tests scores. Applications can be submitted on-line.

Admissions criteria are different for Kansas residents and non-residents. Kansas residents will be automatically admitted if they have an ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 980, or if they are in the top one third of their high school’s graduating class, or if they have a 2.0 GPA in the pre-college curriculum. The school of business requires a 2.5 GPA and the College of Education requires a 2.50 GPA. Required high school coursework includes four units of English, three units of natural science, three units of mathematics, three units of social sciences, and one unit of computer technology.

Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, transcripts, and any materials required by the department. A graduate application has an application fee of $35. Applicants to doctoral programs must also submit GRE scores.

All applicants to Wichita State must demonstrate a minimum ACT score of 21 or minimum SAT score of 980. In place of the standardized test scores, Kansas residents may have either a top-third rank in the graduating class or a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Non-residents may either use standardized test scores, a top-third ranking in their graduating class, or a minimum grade point average of 2.5 to qualify for admissions. Certain colleges within the University may have other, more specific requirements or higher GPA standards, and applicants are encouraged to contact those colleges directly for more information.
